Corb Soccer, Late Over, Reag's Dance Recital

Let the soccer season begin... Corb and Cam have both started spring soccer and are loving it. (I'll have to get picts of Cam next game... He had a scout camp and had to miss his last game.)

Justin is Corbin's coach again. All the kids love him!

Reag had a "late over" with some of her friends... She wanted to invite about 10 more girls but I was mean and wouldn't let her. It gets too CRAZY!

Reagan had her last dance comp on Sat. Just us girls went to it - She did awesome!
 Reag and her friend Brittany
 They all did great!
She NEVER though she would EVER get "into" the splits... Well, she finally did! Go Reag! (The pict is blurry but we had to have proof this actually happened!)
 Love ya babe!

If you are a reader....

... you NEED to read this series!!! The Tiger's Curse by Colleen Houck. It. is. SOOOO. good! By far my favorite series, and they are starting to make movies of them in 2015. Can't wait!!
At the end of the first book, the author put 2 recipies in it. I though it was kind of random since it never talks about the certain foods... anyhow, not to spoil anything but throughout the next 3 books these two food items become part of the book. The cookies are called "Ren's Cookies" (Double Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Cream Cookies). I've made these cookies twice already. They are fantastic!!! Here is a picture of what they look like (at least mine - I'm not sure I did them right, I followed the directions the best I could) and the recipe for all of you peanut butter chocolate lovers. Enjoy!

Ren's Cookies
  • 2 sticks of butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup dark cocoa powder
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 bag of chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup smooth peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
Directions:
Cream the butter then add sugars. When it's light and fluffy, add eggs and vanilla. Sift the next 5 dry ingredients and mix with the wet until thoroughly combined. Add one package of chocolate chips (or as many as you like!) to the dough. Mix together the next 2 ingredients to make the peanut butter filling. Then place a spoonful of the chocolate dough on a baking sheet, top with some peanut butter filling, and cover with some more chocolate dough. Bake at 350 for 12-20 minutes depending on the cookie size.

Kindergarten Performance

Corbin was in the Kindergarten performance. He loved it! They did Hoola-Hooping, Streamers, a big balloon thing, and last but not least the Chicken Dance.
Corbin wanted his dad to do the Chicken dance with him. :)

I loved to watch him hoola-hoop... he had such concentration!
Here he is with his partner doing the Cowboy dance.
Good job Corb! You did awesome!
Afton on her new bike that she got for her birthday.
My girls LOVE hanging out on Uncle Matty's lap! Reagan would not cooperate for me to take a pict... Little skinker!

California

We went to California over spring break to visit Grandma Hislop. She is 96 years old and looks fantastic as you can see. We had a great time!
Grandpa John was super nice and got us a hotel to stay in while we were there. The kids LOVED having a pool and hot tub. The pool was freezing but the kids still loved it. I think we went swimming 6 times while we were there.

I love her little stance with her hands on her hips! Sass-a-frass!!!
It was Reagan's 10th birthday while we were there. She bought these shoes with her birthday money and is seriously IN-LOVE with them! She loves to just walk back and forth.
We took a trip to the park by Grandma Hislop's house. The kids think it's fantastic!

The Hislop cousins came to visit... Lily and Ike. Afton was loving having a new buddy.
 Cute girls!
 All tuckered out!
Grandpa John bought all the kids kites and took us to "Table Mountain" to fly them. It was the PERFECT kite flying spot. Cameron had 3 full rills of string (1000 feet I think) out. We could barely even see his kite.

Thanks Grandpa John! We had a lot of fun! We will always remember flying kites on top of the mountain.
Birthday Girl!
We went to Chico to visit Nathan and April in their new beautiful house. April let the kids do window markers and crayons all over her spotless windows. Mike, Katherine, Nate, and April had also prepared a delicious lunch for us all. We had a great time visiting... and making messes! Thanks Hislops! We love and miss you!

These posted out of order. Grandpa John and Grandma Nanna with all the kids and their kites.
